What is "Cream Cheese"?

The Cream Cheese Sessions were created in response to one of the Independents Hall list members suggesting that while we’re working towards having a permanent space, we have a semi-social “work-together” session. Taking cues from Amit Gupta’s Jelly in NYC and the SWAT approach, we created the Cream Cheese Sessions.

Who's it for?

You, of course! Well, anyone who normally works alone and misses the benefits of being around other creatives. As stated on the Jelly homepage,

"Some of us are entrepreneurs or freelancers. Others work in an office most of the time, but work at Jelly for fresh ideas and a change of pace."

When and Where are they held?

Cream Cheese Sessions are held (approximately) every two weeks. At the moment, we are migrating from location to location, trying out different spots in the city that we may not have tried otherwise. In the past we have gone to:

From this schedule you might be able to tell we’re working on an every other Friday event. This may move, but always check back here for the location and date! Also, jump on the Independents Hall mailing list for more info about new Cream Cheese Sessions, as well as the coworking initiative in Philly.

SWEET! We like that you like it. You’ve got a few options:

  1. you can come hang out at our next event. make some friends. meet some cool, smart people.
  2. you can start your own. got a couple of friends that work from home? pick a place and a time and get to it!
  3. make your own variation of the event. get creative! make sure you write about it, and then post back here to let us know!
  4. don’t forget to look at coworking, and see if there’s one near you. Philly is working on one, but thats hardly the end.
